Description
Chris Nielsen captures a scene from one of Maine's most beloved beaches in this 31" x 25.5" oil piece.
Born in 1953, Chris Nielsen grew up as a middle child in a family of seven children. From an early age Chrissaw the world of color and light and was heavily influenced by the French impressionists. Often called "The American Monet" Chris began selling his art in his early teens and into his years at Maine Maritime Academy. His art has been featured on covers at Downeast Magazine and has been used by the University of Maine for its publications.
Chris' passion for the New England landscape translates onto his canvas in an impressionistic style that has developed a loyal following among private and corporate collectors. He frequently seeks subjects both on the nearby coast and off the beaten track. His commissioned works are increasingly in demand as timeless tributes to his client’s homes and surroundings.
Chris lives in Gray, Maine and does many shows a year at local galleries.
