Artist Statement

"Over the past forty years, I’ve studied art extensively and my commitment to exploring a variety of art mediums, including watercolor, oil, acrylic, chalk pastel, pencil and photography, has given rise to a variety of studies and series. Common threads are dramatic colors, reflections, textures, shapes, space and forms, as well as lighting and shadows unique to the time of day and to each season. These elements draw me to my subject matter of lakes,  mountains, rivers, fields, wildflowers, gardens, and charming old buildings as I capture the beauty of the four seasons in Maine & New England in landscapes and intimate studies."
