This year's headline band will be Sierra Hull and Highway 111. Mandolinist Sierra Hull is a young rising superstar. By age 11, Alison Krauss had called with an invitation to the Opry stage; by 15 she recorded her debut album. After high school, Boston's Berklee College of Music gave ther the school's prestigious Presidential Scholarship, a first for a bluegrass musician. Now she is performing with her crack band Highway 111. 

Chris Jones & the Night Drivers are coming. Sirius-XM Radio host Chris Jones is a top tier bluegrass singer, songwriter & musician. Chris writes many of the songs he sings in his low and mournful voice, filling them with a heartfelt intimacy and contemporary depth. 

Mark Phillips & IIIrd Generation Bluegrass Band is a talented group of award-winning musicians who perform hard-driving traditional bluegrass and bluegrass-gospel music. Young and energetic, the band consitently entertains audiences all over the United States and Canada.

Add to that performaces by great local bluegrass bands, and exciting band contest, a band scramble, workshops, vendors, jamming and dry camping and you have an exciting weekend in store. The Desert Bluegrass Association was conceived in March, 1995, when a group of avid bluegrassers perceived a need for an organization to develop and promote Bluegrass music for the diverse audience in the Greater Tucson Area.

The DBA is an all volunteer organization whose purpose is to:

    * Provide a monthly meeting place for all individuals, musicians and non-musicians alike, who are interested in bluegrass music.
    * Disseminate information about bluegrass music events.
    * Develop a workshop and concert series.
    * Develop an annual bluegrass festival.
    * Support local/regional artists.
    * Support national/international artists.
