Corey D of Yelp says:
If you know me well, you know I LOVE eating breakfast out. I don't know what it is! It's the simplest meal of the day to prepare, and there isn't as much opportunity to stimulate the tastes buds or excite the sense like there is if you were going out for dinner. I can't explain it, but nothing gets me going more than an awesome breakfast at a tiny little hole in the wall, and Bread and Butter Cafe fits the bill!
I was introduced to BBC about a year ago by my good friend Amy. It's tucked away in a strip mall on 22nd Street, and if you don't know your street numbers, it's likely you'll pass it.
I returned to BBC this week and was instantly reminded how much I enjoyed it! I had what I would call, without hesitation, wait for it...one of the BEST omelets I've ever had. I can't even tell you what made it so great, you'll need to take my word and go and get one. Two eggs, mushrooms and spinach: It's not on the menu, but they are SUPER flexible and open to preparing whatever you want-within reason of course. My omelet was served alongside crispy hash browns (a place that understand what 'crispy' means) and a home baked biscuit. I don't want to say it was love at first bite, because that's super cliche, but let's just say if I could redefine marriage as a union between man and his biscuit I would be first in line at the court house.
Garrett convinced me to wrap up with a piece of pecan pie, but to be honest, there was little arm twisting-When I walked in and saw the menu of 9....NINE! home-baked pies, I knew the only thing I had to figure out was which one. You have to have a sweet tooth for pecan pie, and luckily I'm part sugar! If pecan doesn't peak your interest, how about rhubarb, apple, coconut, chocolate cream, banana cream, strawberry and two others I can't remember because they didn't make it past the first cut?
The meal was great, the staff was friendly, the food was off the charts, and I can't wait to return. I have a few more pies to try, an extensive menu that would take months to get though and love for a soft and flaky dream carb I call biscuit.
