Description

...from Muriel C. Marshall, Secretary, Plate Selection Committee, The Rockwell Society of America "...Here in his studio, was a couple married almost half a century, who just by looking into each other's eyes could shut out the rest of the world and recall all the happiness, all the sorrows, all the life they had shared together. It was a scene that he had to paint, not because he was commissioned to do it, but because it touched a deep longing in him....'Golden Christmas' is still widely considered to be one of Rockwell's greatest paintings." The painting was reproduced on the cover of the December 20, 1919 Literary Digest and has remained in private hands. But this limited ed. Rockwell plate entitled "Golden Christmas" can be yours. It is the 1976 issue of the Christmas Collection. Certified by the Rockwell Society of America and crafted by Knowles China in a limited edition permanently closed on December 23, 1976. Numbered and signed, 8" wide, excellent condition. Comes with box and certificate.
