It's a hallmark of the North Shore summer: the Grand Marais, MN, Fisherman's Picnic! Prepare to take part next year, August 1-4, 2013, with the prepurchase of six activity buttons, and the guarantee of six Lions Club Fish Burgers, sure to be "all red-ready and all red-hot"! The 2013 event is sure to include all the annual favorites, including a $10,000 raffle, lumberjack camp, pickled herring eating contest, fish toss, fireworks, parade and lots of live music! 

The Grand Marais Lions serve the community in a variety of ways. They plan and sponsor Fisherman's Picnic (their main fundraiser that helps bring tourism to the community), assist other organizations with setting up events throughout the year, and volunteer to help where they can when asked and needed. The Lions also aid many people and organizations through donations and/or joint fundraisers. In the past 55 years the Grand Marais Lions have helped raise over $1.3 million in donations for programs in Cook County as well as other groups and organizations around the world. The Lions provide aid on both a one-time and an annual basis.
