Pottery Tutorial ONE DAY for One or Two Adults with Kristi Downing of KKD Pottery

Item Number: 216
Time Left: CLOSED

Description
This is a rare opportunity to learn to throw pots on the wheel with Kristi K Downing at her private studio on the beautiful shores of Lake Superior, where natural beauty imbues your creative spirit and soul. Kristi has been potting for 50 years, is a North House Folk School raku instructor, and was featured on two Twin Cities TV specials. Her work has been featured in books, magazines and newspaper articles. She is a host artist on Crossing Borders Art Studio tour. This intensive two-day course for one or two adults will focus on beginning throwing techniques, as well as refining existing throwing skills. Since the emphasis will be on learning to throw, you may not end up with many bisque "keepables," but you should have a few pots that you can use for Kristi's "Raku Pottery Experience" NHFS classes.
Special Instructions
You'll be wonderfully clay messy as you create from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on one day. Dates to be arranged directly with Kristi. A special lunch will be provided both days, served beachside (weather permitting). Also included is one bag of raku clay, studio tools and bisque firing. If you wish to have your bisque pots shipped, you will be responsible for shipping and handling costs.
Note: One of the two "adults" can be a responsible teenager who really wants to learn to throw on the wheel.
