The intern will spend one-on-one time and be supervised by a health director, who is also a physician, and receive an orientation to public health as a field, projects specific to the local health department, and an overview to the fields of epidemiology, emergency preparedness, community health, work in a public health clinic, and environmental health.

 

At the end of the internship, upon request, the director will work with the intern to craft an appropriate letter of recommendation that can be used towards an application for a future job or schooling in related fields.
