About the Artist
Sonia Del Signore's art is very personal. It is inspired by modern art, particularly fauvism, and although figurative, her work embraces many of the fundamental elements of abstraction. It vibrates with vivid and exotic color, and her figures are striking in their expressions. Sonia describes her work as a window to her inner self, which celebrates love, beauty and music, and through that, it celebrates life.
Born in France, and daughter of the famous artist, Littorio Del Signore, Sonia grew up painting in her father's studio in Montreal, Quebec. She experimented in many different media and styles under father's guidance and during these formative years, her passion for art was launched.
