Witness the fastest land mammal up close and personal run from 0 to 70 mph in the blink of an eye!  Cheetah Safari is the new show at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park, located near the Lion Camp and Balloon Safari.  It is free to any guest with admission. 

Cheetah Safari is a unique, jaw-dropping experience that allows guests to witness the world’s fastest land mammal do what it does best — run.  A cheetah’s top speed is about 70 mph.  Guests, who could be as close as 7 feet away, may feel the wind as the cheetah passes by.

 
For an extra-special Cheetah Run experience, Cheetah Safari offers reserved, trackside seating to watch this same lightning-quick cheetah, just feet away, as it whooshes by in hot pursuit of a mechanical lure.

Before the cat makes its entrance, you can relax in our Cheetah Safari seating area while being treated to a private up-close encounter with another African animal. After our cheetah star has finished his or her sprint, the large cat and its trainer will come over for an exclusive meet-and-greet opportunity. Have your camera ready!
