Description
Harry Eckman began his career in commercial art as an assistant to Gil Elvgren in the early 1940s. Eventually, Ekman began painting his own pin-up and glamour girl subjects for various national calendar companies. It was often said that unless one looked closely at the signature on an Ekman painting, it could easily be confused with an Elvgren because Ekman’s work and brush strokes so closely resembled those if his mentor. Artists Joyce Ballantyne and Al Buell also shared the joy of having their work confused with and compared to that of their influential teacher.
Image with white border is approximately 16" x 20"; actual image is approximately 14.5" x 18"
