Description
Pearl Frush was one of only a few female illustrators who specialized solely in calendar art. She limited her work to painting beautiful women for the pin-up and glamour art market, often refusing potential agencies and mainstream national magazines. Working mostly in watercolor and fine gouaches, Frush painted beautiful women with the same texture and delicacy as Alberto Vargas and the equally famous George Petty. Historians continue to recognize Pearl Frush for her incredible artistic talent and for her famous “Frush Girl” pin-up paintings of the 1940’s and ‘50s.
