Anton Gutknecht (German/American, 1907-1988) studied in Dusseldorf, Munich, and Hamburg, and instructed for many years at Vienna's Royal Academy before moving to southern California.  He traveled extensively over the world, painting a wide variety of subjects but specializing in landscapes and seascapes.   In 1980 Foster Art Books published Painting Landscapes and Seascapes by Gutknecht which brought him recognition throughout the U.S.  Stretched with hanger; measures apx. 24"x20"
