Description
This Native American style flute has a mid-G fundamental (G4) and is keyed for G-minor as well as A#/Bb-major. This flute (which measures roughly 26") comes with an instruction sheet, a fleece bag, and a CD of Bob's flute-only, slow-tempo, meditative songs titled Kiwani.
This flute was made by Bob Child, from Haywood County, North Carolina. Bob left a 20+ year career as a TV meteorologist to pursue his soul's work crafting Native American style flutes built in the Iroquois or Eastern Woodlands style. His flutes have a unique name: Ugly Boy Flutes. You can learn more about Ugly Boy Flutes here.
This flute is made from a dense hardwood Bubinga (Africa). And, even though you see two very different colored woods, they are from the same board; the lighter top is the sapwood (with some nice figuring), and the darker bottom is the heartwood. The block is Sapele (African, as well).
