"Retreat is a time to think a lot, and a time to abandon a lot of thoughts." -Vidyadhara Chögyam Trungpa, Rinpoche
Plan a retreat at Dorje Khyung Dzong and choose from a wealth of retreat settings and seasons: summer and wildflowers; autumn and bright red oaks against the "bluest blue" skies; or winter and a fire in your woodstove. You'll have nine cabins from which to choose with names as distinct as their personalities: Tiger, Lion, Garuda, Dragon, Windhorse, Ziji, Jigme, Coil of Joy and the dog-friendly Rigdzin (aka Farfel).
For 38 years Dorje Khyung Dzong has been a solitary retreat destination for practitioners from all traditions. The center sits on the slope of Greenhorn Mountain in Southern Colorado at an altitude of 8200 feet providing the quiet and privacy sought by those wishing to deepen their spiritual practice. Students from any contemplative tradition who have a well established practice are welcome to stay.
Dorje Khyung Dzong is part of the Shambhala International mandala of centers established by Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche.
