Mahamudra was once taught only to elite students of Tibetan Buddhism in secluded monasteries and cloisters. It is now revered as the most direct route to seeing the world in all its transcendent beauty, power and perfection. Be the successful bidder for this March 23-31, 2013 "Mahamudra for the Modern World" retreat.

Mahamudra or “The Great Awakening”, embodying the teachings of Tibetan Vajrayana Buddhism, leads one into direct and unmediated contact with reality itself.  These practices show us how every state of mind and every circumstance can shatter the web of illusion and lay bare the natural state of awakening within.

This public, residential retreat expands upon the audio training course of the same name developed by Dr. Reginald Ray, allowing both beginning and advanced practitioners to discover and deepen their own practice within the warmth and support of the retreat community. The group will explore the great domains of Mahamudra, including how to work with the unfabricated stillness of the unborn mind, the myriad variety of the sense perceptions, and the bursts of energy known as conceptual thinking. Meditation practice will be grounded in extensive work with the body as the locus of enlightenment in this life.

The retreat will be held at Blazing Mountain Retreat Center on the flanks of the Sangre de Christo Mountains in Crestone, Colorado, four hours south of Denver and Boulder in the San Luis Valley.

The item includes tuition, meals, and lodging. Lodging is in the 12-person dormitory but the successful bidder may upgrade, choosing from among other room options and paying the difference.
