Description
The Children's Museum of La Crosse is the Coulee Region's first and only hands-on learning environment for children ages 1 to 12 years and their adult companions. Open since February 28, 1999, the Children's Museum of La Crosse celebrates the value of play via three floors of hands-on exhibits which allow the young and the young at heart to enjoy exciting, interactive adventures that stimulate wonder, exploration and curiosity about the world around them.
In the Museum's lower level, you can: Design, build and cross some bridges...control the flow of real water in the Mighty Mississippi...face the challenge of the 28' Mr. LeKid climbing wall (wall hours vary, please call ahead)...don a hardhat and work vest and operate the Kids' Crane...Discover a tree with lots of surprises...and NEW! Test and expand your knowledge about dinosaurs as you navigate the Dino Revolution Maze!
The Museum's main floor offer opportunities to: Send colorful balls and scarves "whooshing" through clear, twisty tubes...make an impression on the giant pin screen...learn how houses are build and do some building of your own...be a firefighter or police officer, complete with uniforms, real fire engine and a two story station!
Enjoy more hands-on learning and fun on the 2nd floor: work in the kid-sized convenience store...report the news from WKID TV...get your heart rate up and challenge your memory at NEOS...wiggle and giggle in their special play space for ages 0-4 and much more.
