Saraya Reed Grass Purse

Item Number: 247
Time Left: CLOSED
Description
This is a reed purse made by Baskets of Cambodia. The tallest grasses from the fertile Mekong River Delta. Each strand is hand selected and cut precisely, before being dried and dyed, in preparation for the hand operated looms that prepare the textures and styles in much the same manner of a silk loom.
These woven mats are then crafted into fine reed purses that hold up year round and are as wearable and durable as any product you own. Get caught in a rainstorm? No problem. Just let it dry out normally. Spill jam on the surface? Just use a vegetable brush under a small amount of warm water to loosen and rinse lightly. Once dry, you won't even notice!
Tired of heavy bulky purses? Saraya Tatami Style purses are engineered to be light, strong, and tastefully unique. The woven reed produces textures you cannot find on any other product and if properly cared for will last many, many years.
These are not factory line purses. Each purse is given the full attention it deserves by one maker from beginning to end and both inspected and signed. This gives each purse its own distinct identity and personality.
This bag is curved to fit snugly against the body. It's 12" across and 8 1/2" high. It has an inside zip closure as well as a loop closure on top. It's a natural color bag with black lining, edging and straps. The straps are 9" long - this bag fits snugly under your arm.
