Since 1989, the professional artists of the Commonweal Theatre have brought to life soulful stories told with honesty and creativity.  The heart of the Commonweal's programming is the Main Stage Season.  This balanced yet challenging repertory is compromised of up to six plays with more than 200 performances, chosen from among the world's finest classic, contemporary, and emerging playwrights.  According to Joe Dowling, Guthrie Theatre, the Commonweal is "one of the leading rural professional companies in America."  And "the new theater is a fabulous place to see a play - and every seat is a good one," according to Terry Rindfleisch of the La Crosse Tribune.
