Description
Donald Schermerhorn studied interior design in Boston where he started out as a designer for Bloomingdale's. From there he went on to work at various private design firms in New York City until branching out on his own in 1994. Donald's style is classical, with an understated elegance tailored with a light touch. He combines a refined aesthetic with practical skills. His work has less to do with grandeur and more to do with grace.
If you've been wanting to make some changes to your apartment, Donald is offering an amazing auction item here. You'll get five hours worth of Schermerhorn Design expertise. He will help transform your living space into the well designed, beautiful home you've always wanted.
Donald works on projects both small and large throughout New York City, Westchester, Long Island, New Jersey, Nantucket, and Florida. Many of these projects are for returning clients, loyal to his hands-on approach, warm, engaging personality, straight-forward manner and transparent billing procedures. Though his firm is small by industry standards, this means that Donald is personally attentive and accessible. He is known to carefully address client's individual needs and concerns, with a respect for animals, children, comfort and the modern lifestyle.
Donald's work has been prominent at Kips Bay and other charitable Showhouses. There, his sophisticated, highly edited, and unpretentious rooms have drawn accolades. Penelope Green, writing in the The New York Times, called him "a modest man with a painterly eye."
Donald will provide five hours of design consultation and services with this gift certificate.
