Geroge Winston, Solo Pianist: Dcember 8th at 8:00pm- Solo pianist, George Winston plays over 100 solo piano concerts a year in America and beyond. His performance consists of pieces from his melodic seasonal recordings, Vince Guaraldi's Peanuts pieces, New Orleans R&B piano, stride piano, songs by The Doors and more; including pieces from his new CD "Love Will Come: The Music of Vince Guaraldi, Volume 2."


 


Jingle Jazz, Kulas Concert Series: December 9th at 3:00pm -  Santa only has elves. You've got Jack Frost Schantz, Jingle Joe Augustine, Peppermint Patty LaNasa, and more music merry-makers in a jazzy start to the holidays. Presented by the UA School of Music's Kulas Concert Series


 


The Snow Maiden: January 26th at 7:00pm - Magical fairies, playful animals, an elegant Snow Queen, and a charming little Snow Maiden come to life in a wonderful family tale of hope and joy. Colorful costumes, a fanciful setting, and a cast of 90 dancers will enchant and delight all ages.

Michelle Alexander, lecture: February 7th at 7:30pm - New York Times best-selling author, Michelle Alexander is a highly acclaimed civil rights lawyer, advocate and legal scholar who currently holds a joint appointment at the Kirwan Institute for the Study of Race and Ethnicity and the Moritz College of Law at The Ohio State University. Her first book, The New Jim Crow: Mass Incarceration in the Age of Colorblindness is considered one of the top African American books of 2010 and won the NAACP Image Award for "outstanding literary work of non-fiction."


 


Joe Augustine's Piano Valentine: February 17th at 3:00pm - Join Steinway Artist Joe Augustine and friends for an afternoon of romantic piano favorites.


 


Natalie MacMaster (fiddle): March 1st at 8:00pm - Best known as a virtuoso fiddler, Natalie MacMaster has been thrilling audiences around the world with her invigorating prowess for over three decades. She's a member of the Order of Canada, a Juno award winner and the majority of her 11 albums, including her latest, Cape Breton Girl released late last year, have reached gold status.


John Walsh, lecture: March 13th at 7:30pm - Victim's rights advocate, John Walsh is the Emmy-winning internationally renowned host and executive producer of America's Most Wanted: the groundbreaking reality program that's helped law enforcement capture more than 1,100 dangerous fugitives and brought home more than 50 missing children since its debut in 1988. He never sought the role of a crime fighter and victims' advocate, but this has been his life's mission since July 27, 1981, the day his only child, Adam was abducted from a mall near his home and found murdered two weeks later.


UA JazzFest 2013: March 21st at 7:30pm - The UA Faculty Jazz Ensemble, led by Jack Schantz, teams up with Cleveland native and swing master Ken Peplowski, Bittle Jazz Artist in Residence for JazzFest 2013.

He is an actor with a broad range of interests and talents in every area of the entertainment industry - and even outside it. He has been working in show business since the early seventies, and has achieved stunning success in wildly varied ventures.


Bobby McFerrin - Spirit of You All: April 23rd at 8:00pm - BOBBY McFERRIN and his band celebrate the transcendence of the American spirit with joyful new takes on the Spirituals. Ten-time Grammy Award winner BOBBY McFERRIN will always be the guy who sang "Don't Worry, Be Happy", but his "greatest gift to audiences may be transforming a concert hall into a playground, a village center, a joyous space (The LA Times)."


 


Night at the Movies, with Michael Chertok (pianist): May 2nd at 7:30pm - Enjoy movie favorites and other classics with Michael Chertock and the UA Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Guy Bordo.
