Join us for five days in pilgrim paradise! The beautiful little isle of Iona, Scotland, known as a place of pilgrimage for seekers over the centuries, provides the setting for this modern day pilgrimage. Here we will find reflection, meditation and renewal of spirit. Veriditas Master Teacher Kay Mutert will lead the group as we look back at the story of this island and the lives and world of the Celtic Christian saints who shaped a way of living which brought the outer world and inner world into coexistence - a spirituality which can be a guide for today’s living.

In the pattern and rhythm of the ancient daily hours, we will begin and end the day with quiet meditation and reflection, using simple chant and song.

Mornings will include sessions on intentional living as a part of creation, drawing from stories of ancient saints such as Columba of Iona, Brigid of Kildare, Hilda of Whitby, and Brendan the Navigator.

Afternoons will provide time for journaling, walking, visits to Iona Abbey, the nunnery and the island, quiet reflection within the island's mystical natural beauty, or shared conversations over afternoon tea. 

In the evening, we gather to continue our group work, and conclude our day with opportunities for worship at Iona Abbey for those who would like to attend it.

One day, Kay will lead a walking pilgrimage across the island and a labyrinth walk at the simple stone labyrinth nestled by the shore of Columba’s Bay on the south of the island. Lunch is included on this day.

Our group will be lodged in the Columbia Hotel, with its breathtaking panoramic views of the Sound of Iona.
