Apart is from artist Florence Alfano McEwin's Tanabata Series. The piece was produced as one of a kind monotypes, hand pulled and embellished with chine collé. They take impetus from the Japanese Folk Tale of Tanabata, when two stars come together once a year and wishes come true. The character images are altered and manipulated from Japanese film. Framed size is 13" x 10" in  enameled white wood.
