Kieran's Irish Pub has been the original Irish experience in downtown Minneapolis since 1994. Whether you're looking for live music or a quiet corner to sip a dram of whiskey, our friendly staff will make you feel right at home.

Founded on December 17th, 1997, The Local celebrates over a dozen years of enduring loyalty and adoration for its many offerings, from an 80-foot bar featuring a hand-carved back bar, numerous nooks and crannies for exchanging secrets, and ample space in the Whiskey Lounge for telling flat-out lies. Celebrate the highs and the lows in our Boardroom, Kissing Room and private event rooms, The Hollow, The Sanctuary and The Choir.

Established on October 14, 2009, Cooper is the most recent in our collection of pubs, joining Kieran's and The Local in downtown Minneapolis, and The Liffey in downtown St. Paul. Cooper marks our first venture to the "edge of town". Our name comes from two very important sources. A cooper is a whiskey barrel-maker, without whose craft we could not enjoy the "water of life", uisce beatha. Additionally, the much-loved and revered original Cooper Theater stood near our hallowed corner from 1962 to 1991.

The Liffey Irish Pub first opened in February 2003 and is part of the Cara Irish Pub family. The pub was built in Dublin, Ireland before being constructed here in St. Paul. The Liffey was chosen as the name to celebrate both our proximitey to the Mississippi river and our cultural ties to Dublin as The Liffey is the name of the river that runs through Dublin, Ireland.
