About the Artist
The son of a landscape painter, Roberto Lombardi was born in Italy and began painting as a youngster, greatly influenced by his father. He spent many years travelling Europe, studying and painting at various institutions before earning a graduate degree in Paris.
Lombardi's inspiration comes from the beauty of landscapes with it's natural colour and light.
Lombardi's paintings feature picturesque balconies and garden scenes bathed in 'diaphanous light' which he initially sketches on site using charcoal before recreating them in vibrant oils in his studio set in the countryside.
Lombardi continues to travel and show his works throughout Europe and the United States of America.
