About Steve McMichael

A talented sportsman from a young age, Steve McMichael has made a name for himself in the worlds of both professional football and professional wrestling. Born in Houston Texas in 1957, McMichael was drafted out of the University of Texas in 1980 by the New England Patriots. The following year he joined the Chicago Bears, with whom he spent the majority of his career and with whom he earned two Pro Bowl selections; he also helped them win the 1985 Super Bowl Championship. In 1994 he joined the Green Bay Packers for his final season as a professional football player.

At this point "Mongo" McMichael became interesting in wrestling and after a brief stint with the World Wrestling Federation in 1995, he worked with World Championship Wrestling as both a commentator and a wrestler. Since his retirement from that arena in 1999, McMichael has returned to football and is currently the head coach of the Indoor Football League's Chicago Slaughter.
