Lifestyle Education Course at Memorial Hospital Health Center

Item Number: 1229
Time Left: CLOSED
Description
This auction is for enrollment in the Memorial Hospital of Union County's Teaching Lifestyle Choices Program in 2013.
This seven-week class is designed to educate and support you in forming lifestyle habits to improve and enhance your health, while giving you the tools you need to maintain the healthy choices for a lifetime. The classes are taught by a physician, registered and licensed dietitian, and exercise physiologists. Includes labwork and measurements. TLC is designed to educate you to live a healthy lifestyle and reduce your risk for heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, and obesity.
75-percent of our Western diseases are “lifestyle-related”. The finding links these diseases to a rich diet, lack of exercise, consumption of caffeine, alcohol, and cigarettes, and to increased stress levels. While some risk factors cannot be modified, such as age, gender, and heredity, the TLC program enables participants to be proactive about the factors they can change.
