One fun-packed HoWL Day Trip full of adventure with other HoWlers in and around Homer, Alaska.  Bring the family on an Alaskan adventure from anywhere in the world and give the kids a day in Homer to remember!  Individuals with special needs are welcome.

Special Instructions

HoWL stands for Homer Wilderness Leaders.  HoWL's mission is to provide outdoor experiential education to young people in Alaska.  HoWL's vision is to provide an opportunity to teach kids to be confident and conscious backcountry travelers, enabling them to explore the Alaskan wilderness safely.


HoWL Day Trips occur through the summer and even during winter days!  Here is a sampling of just some of the Day Trip activities:



HoWL Day Trips! Exploring, hiking, rock climbing, canoeing, learning to build a fire, goofing off, eating, plant identification, arts and crafts, back country musical jam, map and compass treasure hunt, Geocaching treasure hunt, constructing survival shelters, Knots, Slacklining, Juggling, Marine debris art, adventure race with running shoes, bathing suit, snorkel and cape, harvest of medicinal plants,  and hanging out HoWL-stylez!
