Strictly limited to a 10-day firing period, after which the transfer masters will be destroyed and more more plates can ever be made.
About the Artist: 1914 - 1999. Born in Memphis Tennessee, Thornton Utz studied at the American Academy of Arts in Chicago and taught at the Art Institute. He illustrated for most American magazines and many European ones.
His credits include 50 commissions for Saturday Evening Post covers - an honor he shares with fellow collector plate artist Norman Rockwell. During the 1940's and '50's Utz provided advertising illustration for clients such as Coca-Cola, General Electric and Ford Motor Co.
international fame came with portraits of Princess Grace of Monaco and president Jimmy Carter, as well as the Carter family.
Special Instructions
Diameter of Plate: 8 1/2 inches. 24K gold rim.
Plate in impeccable condition. Has hand numbered Certificate of Authenticity for The Viletta China Company. This certificate was folded in half so does have a fold crease.
Accompanying paperwork have some folds and crinkles but are fully legible and original. Comes with original box from Viletta China Company - box is old and a bit beat up but original.
