Trent Wearner

Trent Wearner grew up in Colorado but being a native hasn’t kept him from traveling the country to work with and learn from the nation’s top coaches/teachers. He has taught side-by-side several top instructors including Keith Lyford in Scottsdale and in New England before being hired to work at the McGetrick Golf Academy. He has also taught clinics with other Top 100 Teachers. Trent works with players of all ability levels including the state's top amateurs, juniors and mini-tour players.  With 70 students playing or having played college golf, he is the most sought-after junior coach in the region.

Trent regularly leads instructional seminars for other PGA members and consistently volunteers his time for the Colorado Junior Golf Association. He is one of only fifty Certified Golf Coaches certified by Dr. Rick Jensen, who is a very well-respected sports psychologist.  In addition to being an honored PGA member and teacher, Trent belongs to an elite group of the nation’s top instructors (Proponent Group). In 2004, at age 31, Wearner became the youngest recipient of the Colorado PGA Teacher of the Year award and since then has been thrust into the national arena earning the accolades you see at the left.

His private lesson students consistently make the drive from cities and towns all over Colorado as well as neighbouring states like Wyoming, Nebraska, South Dakota, Kansas, New Mexico and others. Being the region’s junior golf coaching leader also makes him verse in the college golf process as he helps high school players understand and realize what it takes to play at the collegiate level. Trent helps juniors pinpoint what tournaments are important, he helps them write a letter to college coaches, develop a video, and put a playing portfolio together
