Description

One-week stay in a luxury condo in San Francisco.

 Our Home

Our light-filled 1500 square foot (139 square meters), 2 bedroom, 2 bath condo is a corner unit with a large great room that has a partial view of the city in one direction and a view of the San Francisco Bay and the Bay Bridge in another. Views from every room. One bedroom is arranged as a den but has a comfortable queen-size sleep sofa if necessary. It is located one block from the bay and is exceptionally comfortable. It is in a very high-end building with a large pool, hot tub, fitness center and 24 hour security. The condo has three large flat-screen high definition TV’s with cable providing more than 100 channels to each.

It is well furnished and decorated and features a fully-equipped kitchen. A computer with high-speed Internet and WiFi is provided. A small balcony has an expansive view of the Bay and the Bay Bridge and is a delightful place to enjoy a glass of wine while watching all things nautical pass by.

The building’s web site is www.thebrannan.com and includes a map showing its convenient location. While you may have heard of the famous San Francisco fog, you may have to walk to experience it. The South Beach neighborhood has the best weather in town and is typically sunny. Summers can be quite cool, however, with the temperatures in the high 60’s F (20 degrees C).

Our Neighborhood

We live in a newer neighborhood of San Francisco called "South Beach." Most attractions are within walking distance including the SF Giants’ ballpark (www.sanfrancisco.giants.mlb.com/sf/ballpark) and the Ferry Building (www.ferrybuildingmarketplace.com) with its many food stalls and farmers market on Saturdays. Also walkable is the financial district, MOMA art museum (www.sfmoma.org/), the Yerba Buena gardens, the Metreon movie theater, Coit Tower (requires climbing a long stairway) and Union Square with its world-class shopping. My husband and I routinely walk to Chinatown and North Beach (the Italian neighborhood). Fisherman’s wharf is a longer walk, but the route along the waterfront is flat so you can walk there rather easily and be entertained by the many sights along the way. Within a few minutes walk are coffee shops, delis and several first class restaurants. A new Safeway supermarket and a Walgreen’s pharmacy are within 4 blocks of our condo.

If you do not care to walk, the street railway (Muni) is one block away and takes you to the Ferry Building and the Union Square shopping area, including the spectacular new Westfield Shopping Center. It connects to the transit system for the entire city.

From the standpoints of natural beauty, culture and cuisine, San Francisco is one of the finest cities in the world. Our condo is the perfect platform for experiencing and enjoying this fabulous city.
