Thursday KUNM jazz show has been conducting Live-in-the-moment talks
for the last 16 years. Living testimonies. Ethnographic interior world.
I remember as a student struggling with the poetry of Ezra Pound and then finding
the Caedmon LP at the local library of him reading his poems and hearing his voice
opened up his world immediately.
This collection includes
telephone interviews with Bobby Bradford, Hal McKusick, Toshiko Akiyoshi, Bucky Pizzarelli,
Sheila Jordan, Laurie Pepper, Curtis Fuller, and Connie Crothers.
and In-studio Live interviews with Benny Golson, Jack Manno discussing vocal group jazz, Kenny
Davern as co-host, and Kenny Davern + Eddie Daniels, Doug Lawrence on Count Basie, and
to top it off: trumpet & guitar duets on Christmas Day by Michael Anthony & Bobby Shew.
