Description

Do you love armchair travel or are you already a fan of Cabeza de Vaca and hunger for more knowledge about this famous explorer and the landscape in which he journeyed?  If not, you will be by the end of your visit with the author of The South American Expeditions, 1540-1545! This is an English translation of Alvar Nunez Cabeza de Vaca's detailed narrative of his time as governor of the newly created Rio de la Plata province of New Spain.  The winning bidder will get to bring a friend and spend time with this larger than life historical figure thanks to Baker Morrow and the University of New Mexico Libraries.

Baker H. Morrow is the author or editor of eight earlier books, including Anasazi Architecture and American Design and Canyon Gardens: The Ancient Pueblo Landscapes of the American Southwest, and translator of A Harvest of Reluctant Souls, the Memorial of Fray Alonso de Benavides, 1630.

Special Instructions

The winning bidder will receive a signed copy of The South American Expeditions, 1540-1545 and a tour of the collections at the University of New Mexico Libraries with the translator, Baker Morrow at a mutually agreeable time within 2013.
