New Mexico author Demetria Martinez is offering to meet with a book club to discuss her new novella, The Block Captain's Daughter.  The book looks at the lives of five Albuquerque activists who are drawn together by their passion for change--and who unexpectedly find themselves changed in ways they never could have imagined. Author of the widely-translated Mother Tongue, Martinez was selected for the 2011 Luis Leal award for distinction in Chicano/Latino literature. She is also the author of two books of poetry and a book of essays.
