Description
Are you at risk for osteoporosis? Also know as the brittle bone disease, there are an estimated 44 million Americans affected, 88% of suffers being women. Osteoporosis-related fractures most commonly occur in the hip, wrist or spine, and its likelihood of occurring increases as you age.
According to the Mayo Clinic, “Bone is living tissue, which is constantly being absorbed and replaced. Osteoporosis occurs when the creation of new bone doesn't keep up with the removal of old bone.” It’s important to detect bone loss in its early stages as to prevent sudden bone fractures. Dr. Kermani is devoted to this prevention.
Dr. Kermani specializes in allopathic and osteopathic medicine. Allopathic physicians are general doctors (Medical Doctor or MD), whereas osteopathic physicians (Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine or DO) deal specifically with osteopathy. This form of medicine, osteopathy, targets healing the body with a minimal use of medicine and also emphasizes preventative care. Both types are fully licensed physicians, educated in diagnosing as well as offering treatment for various illnesses and disorders.
