From the artist: "Most of my watercolors and oils deal with men in relationship to the outdoors and each other, often at beaches that I frequent. The seductive combination of sun, sea, sand, and men's bodies is one I long to preserve in paint. Like many residents of the San Francisco peninsula, I'm also attracted to the Cape Cod peninsula and to Provincetown. I'm fond of such local institutions as the Provincetown Art Association and Museum, where I've shown my paintings in members' exhibitions, and the Fine Arts Work Center, where I've taken workshops from the artists Robert Henry, Jim Peters, Gregory Amenoff, and others. I've also spent many enjoyable hours at Herring Cove, where I value the relaxed, playful atmosphere, and where I've taken photos that have sometimes become the basis for paintings done in my San Francisco studio--but which take me back to those idyllic Ptown days."
