Opened in 1996 by Pittsburgh native Ron Molinaro, Il Pizzaiolo started with a simple credo: create Neapolitan pizza using old-world techniques and the highest-quality ingredients available. Since then, the restaurant has become a vibrant gathering place for lovers of Neapolitan pizza, pasta and Italian wine. Nearly everything on the menu is hand-made. And if it’s not made in-house, it’s imported from the best artisans, cheese-makers and salumeria in the world. Mozzarella di Bufala comes direct from Naples every Thursday and the pizzas are baked at 1000ËA? in a handcrafted, wood-fired brick oven for less than 90 seconds. This, along with perfectly leavened dough, San Marzano tomatoes and extra virgin olive oil, produces the most authentic Neapolitan pizza possible.

Il Pizzaiolo also has its own Enoteca, an intimate wine bar setting that offers a wide selection of individually selected Italian wines, cocktails and digestivi. During the summer months, you can dine on the beautiful, rustic and private outdoor patio surrounded by romantic outdoor lighting, fountains and lemon trees.
