Knowing your history....This 63 page book, hardcover, 2009, with 35 color illustrations is authored and signed by Maya Lin, who creates sculptures, earthworks and public places that invite viewers to examine and connect anew with their natural surroundings. This book catalogues her environmental earthwork, Wavefield, at Storm King Arts Center. This site specific piece covers 11 acres and describes a moving wave pattern. The project shows her lifelong interest in landscape and the environment that has led to the creation of three-dimensional works influenced by natural topographies and geology, as well as by ice floes: water patterns, such as those embodied by Storm King Wavefield.
