Marshall creates a world in which movement, touch and breath speak as loudly as the hyper-real and the larger-than-life. It is set to an original commissioned score by Pulitzer Prize-winning composer David Lang, and performed live by the groundbreaking electric guitar quartet Dither. The score merges the iconic pop sound of the electric guitar with the abstract poly rhythms of David Lang’s composition. Cut across by a vocabulary of rock guitar riffs and popular dance moves, this work is the ultimate mash-up: postmodern dance-theater meets rock-and-roll on both real and virtual stages.
