Be the Proud Parent of an Orphaned Baby Elephant in Africa

Item Number: 101
Time Left: CLOSED

Description
The gift of life! You will be the proud foster parent of a baby, orphaned elephant at the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust in Kenya, Africa. The winning bidder will choose from a list of orphaned elephants, including names, ages, pictures and reason for separation from their family. Perhaps little Sities will capture your heart - a young female who, at the age of 7 weeks, wandered into the headquarters of the Mgeno Ranch, seeking company. Her herd was nowhere to be found. Or little Mumbushi, a 2 month old male who was found alone and injured along the Hombre River. Or perhaps Naipoki will be your favorite - at 3 months she fell down a water well - twice! - and was brought to the Trust when her herd could not be located. Most orphans are the result of human poaching. Ivory is again a sought after commodity in Asia.
Elephants are much like humans and crave a "family." The Trust provides that family, while nurturing and preparing them for re-integration into the wild. You can watch your elephant grow, play, make friends and eventually say goodbye as he makes his way back into the wild. What better gift to give!
Your adoption includes monthly emails , describing in beautiful detail how your elephant is doing, who he is playing with and how he is progressing on his track to get reacquainted with his wild counterparts. An elephant watercolor will also accompany the email each month - drawn by the daughter of the Trust's founder, Angela Sheldrick.
Special Instructions
