Description

Gift certificate for Contemplative (Buddhist-inspired) Psychotherapy Counseling with Lee Scher, LPC.

Contemplative Psychotherapy starts with an understanding that our basic nature as humans is trustworthy and whole.  My job is to support you in making friends with yourself and listening deeply to your own wisdom.

Effective counseling for anxiety, depression, relationship issues, anger management, addictions, trauma and personal and spiritual growth in NW Portland.

My Approach

Developing a trustworthy, respectful, empathetic, and genuine relationship with you is the foundation for our work together. This creates the conditions which make healing and growth possible.

I have been trained in many psychotherapeutic methods (including Gestalt, Rogerian Therapy, DBT, Somatic Therapy for trauma, NVC, and Jungian Psychotherapy). I draw on all of these approaches depending on what is appropriate in the moment. Besides my formal education and substantial clinical experience, I draw on thirteen years of regular meditation practice in my work. This practice has deepened my ability to be present with you in a warm, caring, nonjudgmental way.

Here are a few things clients have said about our work together:

"I've come a long way from where I was when I began meeting with you. I'm a lot more comfortable with who I am now...less willing to put up with bad treatment from anyone..."

"You truly were a blessing during my time of need."

"Thank you so much for all your guidance...You have helped me listen to the most important voice of all, my Self."
