Description
"Learning, while learning to care" -- the Summertime version! Open to the entire Pioneer Valley community, LGA's Discovery Camp will provide a fun-filled, hands-on summer day camp for children ages 6-12. Each week, campers will partner with local organizations to make an impact on real life needs right here in the Valley. One, two, or three weeks of new friendships, meaningful community projects, and loads of summer fun!
Week #1 – Animal Protection and Care
Kids love animals. Campers will work side by side with local organizations that train service animals and help animals in need. What better way to capture a child’s imagination and heart than with one of their all-time favorite topics?
Week #2 – Food for Thought
Campers will explore healthy eating and learn how food is grown and distributed. They will cook together and work together on a service project designed to fight hunger in our own community.
Week #3 – The Art of Recycling
Trash or treasure? Campers will turn found and recycled materials into useful objects. Through hands-on art and eco-projects, they will expand their awareness about local recycling and ways to protect our community and heal our planet.
