This generous gift certificate of $225 can be used toward classes or summer intensives at the Drama Studio in Springfield. The Drama Studio's mission is to enrich and validate the adolescent experience in our diverse community via excellence in a conservatory-style acting training program. The Drama Studio is one of a handful of after-school acting conservatories in the United States where a young actor can intensively study and advance through a theatre curriculum before he or she is 18. Classes run the gamut:
Introductory Classes
The Studio offers an exciting curriculum to introduce students to the acting process. Each course offers work in improvisation, movement, scene and monologue work, and ensemble building.
Intermediate Classes
Intermediate classes are for students who have completed the Drama Studio's Introductory classes and would like to begin taking courses which shed more light on specific acting styles and techniques. These are classes in improv, ensemble work, scene study, comedy, movement, developing theatre, writing, and more!
Advanced Classes
Advanced Classes are for teen students who are prepared to study at a college level while in high school and have completed the Studio’s introductory and intermediate classes. Courses introduce students to plays by such great classical dramatists as Shakespeare, the Greeks, Checkhov, O’Neill, and Pinter as well as the work of contemporary writers and directors. Advanced courses also challenge students to collaborate with awareness and agility in ensembles.
