This photo montage and mixed media has been printed on watercolor paper, it is hand painted and colored. It is from a series shown at TAG Gallery, titled "Fairs, Fast Food and Fun". This particular piece from the series is titled "Fast Food".

Frame width is 38 1/2" and height is 19 1/2". Under glass.

Artist's Statement:

"In my new body of work, I wanted to take a look at our culture's idea of fun. What do we consider fun? A day at the beach, rides that turn upside down, eating anything fried or on a stick, coming home with a giant stuffed animal? I still love going to the fair. It's an overload for the senses. I've tried to capture the excitement, hustle and bustle and the commercialism of our leisure activities today."

About the Artist:

Janet Siegel, is a native of Miami, Florida, attended Florida State University, and the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles. She has been a life-long artist and art lover. She has taken classes in all types of art, from ceramics to photography. She especially likes to paint in watercolor, photo-realistic scenes of Italy and nature. She also has done a series of hand painted photomontages, and enjoys expressionistic painting in acrylics. Janet also loves working with children and helping them discover the fun of creating art.

This is Mrs. Siegel's fourth year at Farragut Elementary School, as it's Artist-In -Residence. She teaches art classes to all students at each grade level.
