Description
John Garrett, Conquistador, mixed media copper, 24x24
CONQUISTADOR comes from a series of pieces called ARMORS. These structures are made from interconnected wire rings and refer to chain mail armor. On the wire rings are attached a variety of materials, primarily copper clad circuit board material which I have cut, shaped and patinated. Other objects are keys, finger rings, bullet casings and beads. Individually these objects may carry certain associations for the viewer. In concert together in this dense construction, these materials create a poetic narrative.
