Description

Rachael Ray (born August 25, 1968) is an American television personality, businesswoman, celebrity chef and author. She hosts the syndicated daily talk and lifestyle program Rachael Ray, and three Food Network series, (30 Minute Meals, Rachael Ray's Tasty Travels and $40 a Day). Rachael has authored several successful cookbooks based on the 30 Minute Meals concept, and launched a magazine, Every Day with Rachael Ray, in 2006. Her TV shows won two Daytime Emmy Awards.

Ray credits the concept of 30 Minute Meals to her experience working at Cowan & Lobel, a gourmet market in Albany, where she met people who were reluctant to cook. She taught a course in which she showed how to make meals in less than thirty minutes.

Mask designed by Cass Hale

This mask is very textural and features in its design, rose petals covered in wax. It is a  feast for the eyes in honor of Rachel Ray.

Cassandra Hale has an MFA in Interdisciplinary Art with a Focus in Book and Paper from Columbia College. Initially, her love of words led her to create handmade books. As her art evolved, a life-long involvement with fiber led her to combine fabric and words to create large fabric murals, such as "Hiroshima," which is on display at the Botanic Gardens in Highland Park.

As an interdisciplinary artist, Cassandra continues her work with other media, but fiber continues to be her central medium. She not only sews fabric but also enjoys the magic of sewing on paper. Her text continues to be messages of peace and harmony.

This is a Live Event Item.
