Description
As part of the mid-'90s revival of roots-rock, The Wallflowers, originating in Los Angeles in 1989, had a special inspiration: vocalist/songwriter/guitarist Jakob Dylan, son of legendary Bob Dylan. Originally known as The Apples, the current ensemble’s lead players, besides Jakob, are Rami Jaffee and Greg Richling. Other members in the band’s recording history are Jack Irons, Pedro Yanowitz, Stuart Mathis, Mario Calire, and Michael Ward. The band has released five studio albums, one compilation album and has had several songs on television and movie soundtracks. It won two Grammy awards for Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal, and Best Rock Song for their single, "One Headlight," in 1998.
