About CAPC Intensive:
Master the SAT, and learn to write effective personal statements and navigate the college application process at College Admission Prep Camp. CAPC helps students succeed in the college admissions process with market-leading SAT prep, individualized personal statement writing instruction and college guidance counseling.
Education Unlimited offers College Admission Prep Camp Intensive (CAPC Intensive) in partnership with Kaplan Test Prep and Admissions®. CAPC Intensive is a 20-day immersive program that prepares students for the increasingly competitive college admission process by providing expert instruction in SAT prep, college guidance counseling, and personal statement writing. Additionally, students visit top colleges and go on excursions to local attractions.
Kaplan SAT Prep*
Kaplan Test Prep and Admissions provides the SAT prep at CAPC Intensive. Students receive more than 50 hours of instruction and will take 5 full-length practice tests to give them test-taking practice that closely mimics the actual SAT. The classroom portion of the course will be supplemented by detailed homework assignments that will benefit students long after they have completed the instructional meetings. Each student receives a take-home kit containing lesson books, practice exams and vocabulary flashcards.
Personal Statement Instruction
Expert writing instructors teach students the fundamentals of personal statement writing and guide them through the writing process. Students learn to express the self-awareness, imagination and curiosity that will make them attractive candidates to selective colleges. Students learn how to choose a topic, develop ideas, edit for content and style and avoid common pitfalls that weaken an applicant’s chances of admission. Students will leave the program with three different personal statement essays that are ready or nearly ready for submission with their college applications.
College Counseling
Students will each meet with two guidance counselors to receive plenty of feedback and insight about their personal college admission decisions. Both counselors will discuss college choices, high school planning and the college application with each student. Students will leave with a list of colleges for consideration from each counselor.
Excursions and Recreation
Students will tour several prominent university campuses (selection varies by camp location) where they will meet attending students, visit campus landmarks, and ask admission personnel critical questions. Also, to provide a break from class work, students will participate in a full-day chaperoned whitewater-rafting excursion. Camp staff also plans a host of evening activities and campus-based recreation so students may experience the excitement of college life!
“The staff were very knowledgeable, helpful and above all, fun and entertaining." Christopher Campbell-Orrock, 2007 CAPC Intensive Camper
“The recreational activities were amazing, especially the whitewater rafting trip. The college counseling was also very helpful. I found so many colleges that I think I will be very happy at.” Katharine Chiu, 2007 CAPC Cal Intensive camper
*Note: Kaplan offers a specific score guarantee for participants of our particular CAPC Intensive programs. The guarantee is as follows: "Students who attend all Kaplan classes during the course of the program, complete all homework assignments, take the October 2011 actual SAT and do not score higher on the October exam than their score on the first practice exam (diagnostic test at camp) are entitled to retake one Kaplan classroom SAT course at any US Kaplan center without charge. Any student who attends the program and wants to re-take the full SAT course at their local Kaplan center closer to their test date can do so for only $199, payable to Kaplan directly and not to Education Unlimited."

Our California summer camps and Massachusetts summer programs include public speaking camps, summer college admissions prep programs, science camps for girls, summer acting camp, creative writing camp, computer camp, video production camp and East Coast college tours.
Massachusetts summer programs in and near Boston include Tufts University summer programs and MIT summer science courses.
Academic summer camps were our first calling at Education Unlimited®; when we founded the organization with our College Admission Prep Camp® in 1993, we created a whole new genre of summer camp experience. Over the years, we expanded our offerings, developing about a dozen different kinds of academic summer camps and academic summer programs.
An important distinction between our programs and those of many other organizations is our focus on single subjects in any given camp. By focusing on single subjects, the curriculum can be of greater breadth and depth than any survey course or multi-subject program approach.
