About ZooCamp:
The ZooCamp day is from 9am-3:00pm. Parents may drop off as early as 8:45am, and there is an extended day program which runs in the morning from 7:00am until camp starts, and in the afternoon until 6:00pm.
The Extended Day Program is available for either morning or afternoon hours for an additional fee of $20* for morning care, $30* for afternoon care per session, or both morning and afternoon hours for $50* additional per session. Space is limited to the first 35 campers to enroll.
Zoo New England Membership
All children attending ZooCamp must become members of Zoo New England. Proof of membership is required at the time of registration. The discounted membership fee for ZooCamp participants is $50.00. You may upgrade to a Family Membership (which includes two adults and all of their children) for a total of $65.00. These are reduced membership rates.
A Day At ZooCamp:
ZooCamp's Curriculum is written by the Zoo New England (ZNE) staff using the Massachusetts and Boston Schools Educational Standards. ZooCamp's program allows campers an increased opportunity to expand and practice their knowledge in support of the MCAS testing.
The curriculum is thoughtfully written to maximize campers', experience with the animal exhibits and animal habitats at the Franklin Park Zoo and Stone Zoo. Each day there is a special focus for which all activities are centered, including science, games, and arts & crafts activities. After lunch campers participate in a live animal encounter with the ZNE Education Staff member. Campers use journals, worksheets and artwork to demonstrate and complete various educational activities.
Once a session, campers participate in activities with the ZNE Animal Keepers that allow campers to go "behind the scenes" at the zoo. Some of those activities allow youth to feed (prepare food items that animals will eat) some of the animals deemed appropriate.
Our curricula themes:
*Amazing Adaptations
*Animal Habitats
*The Animal Kingdom and Biodiversity
*Predator vs. Prey
*Wildlife in your Backyard
*Animal Care
*Life Cycles
*Making Connections
*Ecosystems and Conservations
About Camp Fire USA's Signature Zoo Camp:
ZooCamp is a unique day camp experience for children ages 5*-13, held at Boston's Franklin Park Zoo and Stone Zoo. ZooCamp, a collaboration between Camp Fire USA Eastern Massachusetts Council and Zoo New England, has been in operation since 1991.
Whether your child is a science buff or just loves animals and nature, ZooCamp is an educational, fun-filled journey which gives children the opportunity to explore the natural world.
Arts and crafts, nature games, environmental activities, and behind the scenes with some of the zoo's animals help teach ZooCampers about our fascinating planet. Through these new experiences, campers develop a strong sense of self, new skills, community pride, environmental awareness and appreciation, and new friendships.
Staff & Safety

based on their experience working with children, leadership qualities, and their
ability to be positive role-models. All staff members participate in an intensive
training program and all are certified in first aid and CPR.
*5 years olds, must have attended a full day program prior to summer camp.
