Our Core Values
Camp Waziyatah’s philosophy and programming are rooted in the “Core Values” of Courtesy, Integrity, Respect and Responsibility. We put these values into action by teaching kids to respect themselves, their environment and all people, and to build a healthy sense of pride, honor and kindness.
Courtesy
Camp Waziyatah teaches campers manners, tolerance and caring for people of all backgrounds.
Integrity
Camp Waziyatah teaches campers honor, self respect, and truthfulness.
Respect
Camp Waziyatah teaches campers the golden rule.
Responsibility
Camp Waziyatah teaches campers responsibility toward our environment, our camp and our fellow campers.
All Wazi programming is infused with these core values. At canoeing, a Wazi camper learns more than one kind of respect. Returning equipment properly is respectful to the next camper, but Wazi teaches kids to think about environmental stewardship as well. Campers respect their environment by “going green” with human power and are taught to always “leave no trace”.
